I have a Chihuahua mix and he does this whenever he gets too excited. Sometimes the attack is so bad I have to blow air into his nostrils, like cpr.

With my 1st Chihuahua it happened but I didn't get scared I just started to rub her route throat & it stopped right after now that I have a 2nd Chihuahua I do the same thing for her
