people want dead victims. they want victims they can project onto. project hopes and dreams and morals the victim likely never had, but it sounds good, so it doesn't really matter. project their own fear and sorrow, so they never have to actually confront how out of control we all are. a dead victim doesn't grow up. a dead victim doesn't display mental illness, or political affiliation or sexuality, or anything they might not agree with. dead victims are safe

oh my god finally the sane side of tiktok i am so sick of this. in fact, i’d argue that about half of people who are severely abused go on to perpetuate part if not all of that cycle! not everyone is equipped with the tools, education, or mental capacity to unlearn that stuff. almost every abuser in the world was once abused themselves.
