in the end we are a product if how we were raised, but its taking the good and weeding out the hurt that counts...good talk

My mom was carrying a lot of childhood trauma but she was a good mom. My dad was just a selfish human being that thought having a second family was normal and was toxic. We went no contact after he divorced my mom behind her back and married the third affair partner. The healing between my mom and I is ongoing but we are trying.

true we didn't know our parents when they were young so we don't know what they went through n what shaped them as people we just need to remember they were someone before they were parents

I’m fixing to be 59 next month and now I finally realize that the women I had in my life al thought me something different. They went through harder times than I did then my daughter has or my granddaughter is going through.. These women had it tough and survive, made the best they could with what they had. Had kids ( some had a large amount of kids ) struggle and still survived. Went through traumatic situations and still survived. No one to help or count on but themselves and yet survived I appreciate them even more than I did back then when I had them

I heard my story in your story. My Mom was not the warm and fuzzy kind growing up, but I learned later in life that she was a product of her own experience. Thanks for that moment of enlightenment.

My dad had a lot of trauma from his mom and his brothers. He lost his dad suddenly and it was so hard. I once said that the day we buried my Tata we went into the ground with him. I had a rough relationship with my dad for a long time because that trauma made him emotionally abusive. I made the decision to forgive him and he also went to therapy. He apologized and has continued to work to be better about how he reacts to things. It's also helped that his mom and youngest brother have died, and he cut his last one off because he realized the toxicity was bad for him.

👏👏👏 You can cut them out and forgive them. Most of all once you have challenging children. You see them and your repeating yet you help your child. so we know doesn’t mean we need to celebrate them or continue I will just teach my child their story

Kids do not come with instruction manuals and parents are humans who make mistakes. My mom left us with our dad and it hurt. But as a adult I had a better relationship with her understanding this

Very well said Isaac. My parents had 14 kids, yes 14, and I am the the youngest, the baby of the bunch, my dad died like when I was 2 yrs old so it left my mother with us 14 kids- yes of course the older ones were already in their early 20s and helped but no, it was not easy for my mom with us and she did the best she could and the best she knew how as a single parent with a bunch of kids. So with that being said my childhood was not as I would of loved it to be, but today I have a very large beautiful family with 12 of us still living, I just turned 60 last week and the eldest is abt 83 or so- we have a million nieces & nephews 😁 😂, great, great great and great great great nieces & nephews, very big beautiful TIRADO generation. Thank you for ur video 👏 👏 👏 👏 ✨✨✨✨

I moved out as soon as I could because it was such a toxic environment with the issues my mom had. It wasn’t until I went to an “Inner Child” class that I learned to ask my mom the right questions to get to the core of why she treated us the way she did. She had a terrible childhood with an alcoholic father and numerous alcoholic brothers. It took a long time to show her ways to move forward and leave behind the sack of woes she carried on her back all her life. It also took time to forgive her for all we went through and get everyone talking about it and moving past it. She still carried the sack, but she was better about not hurling it at us as often and I sometimes had to call her out when she would stir the pot. I loved her, but it was a hard bumpy road. I chose not to have children because I was afraid of perpetuating the trauma like my sister did with her kids. It wasn’t as bad as us growing up but she still fell into my mom’s traps clear up until mom passed away. ☹️🙏🏼

You know when my parents came to the states, I couldn’t imagine what my mom was feeling being that she would be so far from her parents and family. As I was older I then realized the sacrifices my mom made. She could’ve told my Dad no, but she did it for us. I miss my mom and on her death bed, she wanted to be with her parents and I am happy she’s with them as well as her one daughter, my sister that we lost to cancer. That changed my mom! Losing her child! Also for me I am struggling with the issues with my daughter that has caused me so much grief and pain. I definitely wish I’d knew how to cook like she did, I was the baby out of the clan and I was never in the kitchen. My older siblings where. I do have the memories of when my mom would make Mexican pastries and you knows my mom wasn’t perfect, she made some mistakes but I would never ever and happy that I never thru that at her face! I love my mom and respected her and my dad! Kids now need to know what the meaning of respect means!!
