Im convinced this is why new RVs have inflated MSRPs. Most people trade with negative equity. Inflated MSRPs help get the new loans approved by the banks and keep the industry rolling.

Just don’t physically take it out on the sales rep when you wanted to trade in your unit that’s only worth $60k (even full retail value) and owe $180k on it 🤕

Option 4…sell it private party for retail price. If the dealer is offering $9k, they will turn around and sell it for $12-13k. Sell it for the $12-13k and pay the $2k difference and open up your possibilities in shopping instead of being stuck at one camper lot.

What it’s worth. What you owe What are the repairs are going to be. A 14k camera trade in is about 3 k. When you trade they will find things wrong with it no matter how clean it is.

Actually we all over paid for them! Thats the honest truth, they are never worth the price that we paid for them. Never buy new they depreciate way to fast. Buy the best used one you can find and let the first buyer take that big hit.

We bought 3 campers in 3 years. 1st one was used next 2 were new. Had negative equity for the current rv. Don’t regret it for a minute. The new one is much larger and built a little better. The last camper was ok, the new one is amazing!
