Marcel, I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I commented on a post that I have worked in healthcare for 37 years and I have had to advocate for patients like you. I also went through chemotherapy myself. I am not sure what insurance is pending, but if it is Michigan Medicaid, they pay retroactively back to 90 days in the hospital should not be billing you and making you pay to get future treatments as long as Michigan Medicaid is pending many other commercial insurances have the same. I messaged Taylor last week with my phone number. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need assistance and advocating. I am more than happy to take my happy little ass up to University of Michigan Hospital with Taylor and let them know. I live in Michigan not too far from that hospital. Stay strong. Marcel, Medicaid goes into effect for anyone, regardless of how much money they make, if their medical bills exceed their monthly income. It’s called medically, needy with a sheriff of cost. Contact your state, Medicaid office and speak with them. Once you apply, they can backdate it to cover any medical bills for two months prior to the date of your application. Speak to a social worker at the hospital, they should’ve told you this when this happened. I went through this in my own cancer battle so if you need help navigating this, just let me know.

Before you pay, call and see what financial assistance they have, see if they can knock down the price. Then set up payment plan - say $200/month. Gives you time for insurance to kick back in, then see if the insurance will cover it since you should’ve had coverage I believe ?
