@movingtovirginia: My girl turns ONE this weekend, and somehow I’m still trying to wrap my head around how quickly this first year went. Over the last 12 months, she’s been to more showings, inspections, appraisals, closings, real estate events, trainings, and coffee-fueled workdays than most people experience in a lifetime. At this point, she has almost a full year of field experience and enough hours logged to start asking about her split. 🤣 But behind the cute pictures of bringing my baby along while I work is the very real experience of being a working mom. It’s answering emails during naps, scheduling appointments around childcare, bringing her along when I can, feeling guilty when I’m working and sometimes feeling guilty when I’m not. It’s trying to be fully present for my clients while also being fully present for this little person who is growing and changing right in front of me. There are days when balancing the two feels natural and days when there is absolutely no balance at all. But becoming her mom has also given me an entirely different reason to keep building. I want her to grow up watching her mom create something of her own. I want her to see what it looks like to work hard, serve people well, take chances, and build a life and career that leave room for the things that matter most. A year ago, I was figuring out how motherhood and my business were ever going to fit together. Now I realize they were never supposed to be separate. She’s a huge part of my why. And if year one included this many houses, appointments, car naps, snacks, and miles driven together, I can only imagine what year two has in store for my tiniest real estate assistant. 😂 Happy almost first birthday to the reason behind so much of what I’m building. #realtormom #workingmoms #realtormomlife #firstbirthdayphotoshoot
