Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 2:14 AM on July 30, 2023, Officer Eric Steele from the Morristown Police Department responded to a call about a pedestrian hit on Liberty Street near Hazel Street. When he arrived, he talked to a 20-year-old woman who looked injured with visible scrapes and told others her whole body hurt. Soon after, Officer Sean Grawehr arrived and saw a 2017 Honda Civic stopped in the middle of the road. He approached the driver, 22-year-old Jessica Andresflores, who admitted she had hit the pedestrian. Witnesses told officers Jessica might be impaired. Officer Grawehr smelled alcohol and noticed signs of intoxication while speaking with her. Jessica admitted she drank three drinks earlier that evening and claimed she couldn’t see the pedestrian because she was turning. Police suspected she was under the influence, so they asked her to do field sobriety tests. Officer Grawehr first asked Jessica to count backward from 52 to 39. She could not do it properly. The first official test, the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN), showed her eyes lacked smooth tracking and displayed jerking at maximum gaze, with nystagmus starting before 45 degrees. Next, she took the Walk and Turn test but failed to touch her heel-to-toe properly, made mistakes turning, and stepped incorrectly. Then, during the One Leg Stand, Jessica couldn’t keep her foot up properly and put it down early. Because she hit the pedestrian, smelled of alcohol, admitted to drinking, and failed the tests, Jessica was arrested for DWI. Her car was impounded for 12 hours under John’s Law. The injured pedestrian was taken to Morristown Medical Center for checks. Jessica was taken to the police station, where she read the standard statement for drivers. She agreed to give breath samples and waived her rights. She told officers she drank at Whiskey & Virtue earlier that night. Officer Michael Cerick conducted the breath test, which showed her BAC was 0.18%, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing, Jessica was released to her father, who signed a waiver and Potential Liability Warning for her court case. At the scene, Officer Grawehr issued Jessica tickets for several violations: operating under the influence, failing to watch out for pedestrians, not stopping for someone in a crosswalk, reckless driving, and not having her driver registration. She was also charged with Assault by Auto. Court records say that on October 19, 2023, Jessica was found guilty of DUI and failing to stop for a pedestrian. She faced five months with an ignition interlock device and spent 12 hours at a driver’s resource center. Her fines added up to $966. The other charges were dropped after she agreed to a plea deal. Her Assault by Auto charge was reduced to Disorderly Conduct, along with a $6 fine. 01:38 I I don't know, I didn't see anything yikes pucker factor 9000 06:37 after the officer asked her to straighten her head a little bit....?
