One thing I’ve noticed about myself as an autistic woman is that Ialways feel like I’m walking on eggshells in female friendships. I’m naturally very direct and literal. If I disagree with you, I’ll tell you I disagree and explain why. I don’t necessarily mean there’s a hidden message behind it.
often women I’ve found that people interpret direct disagreement as me being cold, rude, defensive, or attacking them personally. Meanwhile, I don’t always understand why I’m expected to add so much emotional padding around what I’m saying. 😂
I actually communicate really well with people who are comfortable being direct with me too. I’d much rather someone tell me plainly, “That hurt my feelings because of X,” than expect me to pick up on hints or read between the lines.
I’m learning that this isn’t necessarily about one side being right or wrong. Sometimes it’s just different communication styles. But I also think there needs to be room for autistic people to communicate directly without every disagreement being interpreted as hostility.

unfortunately I can relate to everything you said. I walk online shows every single day doesn't help that I have a disability and depend on people. but yes I am exactly that. I walk on eggshells and I don't want to deal with people but I'm also required to thank you for your content and always it's home when I need it the most and shows me that I don't have to be ashamed of things
