DON’T GET ME STARTED on people who go “the cure wouldn’t have worked”. That isn’t the point. Joel didn’t rip Ellie out of that hospital because he thought the cure wouldn’t work. He did it because he didn’t want to “fail” as a father figure again. Yes the Fireflies should’ve asked Ellie, but Joel should have too. Neither of them wanted to take any chances, and we know now that Ellie 100% would’ve said yes to the surgery

in both games you'll rack up more human kills than infected and these games take place 20 years into the apocalypse, anyone who thinks Joel didn't get exactly what he deserves didn't pay close enough attention, these games have always been about perspective

it doesn't hit because if Joel hadn't did what he did they all would've died and worse for ellie because they would've abused her every way THEN killed her and Joel knows that. it's not "getting a taste of your own medicine" when it's the apocalypse and there's people that will kill you if you hesitate for a second.
