Yall not understanding that Pre-K and Headstart were income based programs. If everyone in your community got in, it’s probably because they were all low income. It’s never been just free with people making more than 80k.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) in California has always been free when offered through public school districts because it is part of the public K-12 educational system. My kid is now 10 and she went to TK for free and we live in Orange County mission viejo area. It’s been free, transitional kindergarten is not day care. TK they learn the basics 123 , abc and being able to write their name and learning how to behave in a classroom. Its honestly really great for them , Kinder it’s more advanced and there is higher expectations for the kids coming in.
