My local Mexican restaurant growing up catered my parents wedding, had a meal named after me, carried my little sister around the restaurant as a toddler, and then sadly closed after we moved away

Stoked! Used to get Chinese takeout hella then we moved. Years later I moved back and when I came to pick it up the lady legit came out from the back and gave me a hug saying, “we thought you died! We missed you!”😂😂

I had that. Alejandro was out regular server. He would see us and jump for joy. Mango margarita chips and fresh guacamole were on their way before we sat. He never let us order and would just start bringing out food. Like plates upon plates of off menu items all of them were 10/10. Before the restaurant closed we went in for our last meal. His mother 80ish years old come out with a mountain of tamales. I think of him and his family and hope they are doing ok. Also no other tamale has came close to those.

My local childhood Pizza place new our phone number by heart and would answer the phone telling us our order will be ready in 15 for pick up 🥰 ugh I miss that place

as a ex-food service employee, I had this happen when I still worked fast food. I was flattered and made aware the manager was getting me my order how I wanted even though they weren't supposed to make it that way anymore. (they stopped offering grilling cerrian menu items, but I was the exception)

my husband and i are regulars at a southern restaurant and it’s a highlight of our life knowing we can just make eye contact and literally any server can bring us our drinks and put in our order for a table pancake.
