I like how some of Gaang incorporated other nations bending forms like Zuko using earth-bending/waterbending type of fighting styles during his fight with Azula. Toph utilizing one of Aang’s moves symbolizes how despite the fact that she’s still a harden person, Aang meeting her gave her the freedom/individuality she couldn’t have —something that’s common with the air nomads

The general understanding was that they fought together so much that they absorbed other bending techniques and applied it to their own. Just like how Iroh learned how to lightning bending from watching water benders. Let the lightning flow through you.
