My soul dog shepherd mix got the degenerative myleopothy (broke my heart). But I got a bike an stroller to ride him to the beach with the siblings so he could save his energy for play an took him home when he used it up. An when he knew n told me...(side note i didnt know about home euthanasia look into that please its amazing). Id been lifting him an carring him outside an upstairs for a couple days...day of apt he walked himself to the car an (internally sobbed but he knew). I always try not to cry because my pets are very concerned if i do...I usually just list how amazing they are an what good dog/pets they have been an tell them tales of how perfect they were...an always always repeat...I told you id luv you forever an I will...you are the bestest..im so lucky to get to be your mum..the real sad crys come later...but i want the last moments full of my voice calm an telling them how amazing they are..an im here an won't ever leave...never an thank you for being a great pupper.. An just a psa for people who leave the room please dont they look for you...if a dog luvs you unconditionally its only fair you give them that last moment of peace with their human..they earned that if you are even a little empathetic.If you are a multi pet house hold its amazing to have at home euthanasia because it is near impossible to explain to pets what happened an letting them be involved perhaps not the exact moment but after...is very very helpful in achieving closure for all the pets.
