Deaf here .... she is correct however the protocol is that Deaf person is to be handcuff in front not back. they must remove handcuffs to allow us to use our hands. they can and do get in trouble if they cause language deprivation/failure to provide language accessibility. technically she is correct and it's still ongoing battle to this day. tell her teacher to next time ask someone from Deaf community. Her question is legit.

she shouldnt be punished for a legit question. that was a teaching moment and teacher failed to teach. people often ask how blind people know when they are done wiping, my mom is legally blind so I do actually know the answer and have used their jokes as a teaching moment 🤷♀️
