arcane fans REALLY don't know what they say most of the time. how can someone possibly call arcane copganda? not only is the show VERY open to showing police brutality and demonizing them, but even the only "good" cop we had (Caitlyn) became corrupted in s2😭

I need to make a video or a long ass blog post going into excruciating detail about how Caitlyn literally is not a facist and just how racist the fandom is. the show doesn't tackle racism, it's about classism. how the rich bully those less fortunate. how the people in power neglect those in need to line their pockets. if anything, fan interpretation is what brings up race. the POC characters and women disproportionately get the hate and massive outrage compared to their white and man counterparts. literally, use Silco as an example. he enslaved children, got people addicted to drugs, made Zaun worse and paid off the Enforcers to brutally attack and arrest Zaunites to keep himself out of jail. I genuinely do not think I have seen anyone get as mad at Silco as they do for Mel, Ambessa, Caitlyn or Vi

I had a whole argument with someone because I said comparing Caitlyn to the KKK is disrespectful af and isn’t a funny joke. They then went on to say that Caitlyn is racist (like ignoring all of the things she has done wrong and dumbed it down to racism) and also said she can’t be Asian because Asia doesn’t exist in arcane AU.

Sadly, I think it's because a lot of these folks deep down... do not really see classism as a bad thing? Looking down on or treating someone badly because of race they can agree is terrible! But looking down on someone because they are poorer than you and have perhaps turned to crime or drugs to escape their hard life?? That is much harder for them to think of as genuinely bad. In fact, it might be something they themselves are guilty of, and that makes it harder to justify their anger at Caitlyn, so they look for something worse than classism to accuse her of, whether or not it actually applies (It's honestly similar to the folks accusing her of gassing civilians and killing people because using chemical weapons when it's only on dangerous criminals and nobody dies they don't ACTUALLY see as a bad thing. Or accusing her of attacking thousands of innocent Zaunites and throwing them in "camps" as commander because, again, they don't really see it as that bad if the enforcers are flooding the streets of Zaun but the only people they hurt/arrest are folks like the Jinxers who attack them first)

its a bit oot but i find it funny that in app where you need to show your face most cait defenders/ppl who don't demonize her and understand her complex arc are poc and ppl from the global south while we have the sterotype on twitter that we're all yt. meanwhile from what i've seen on this app its jinx, silco and jayvik fans who are 9/10 yt.

I’ve literally had a “conversation” (they called me slurs) with some who was like well the show is copaganda and I was like one your acting like that so don’t event start and 2 in their bio they had NCIS #1 show and like ?!?! You can not say arcane is copaganda when it consistently shows the enforcer as bad and the system needing to change, while loving a show that is pretty well known for its problematic viewing of police work and system.

And this comment mentions another thing I made a video on. Stop acting like a 20 something year old woman created the system of oppression in their world that is hundreds of years old. Her small role in it should not lead to her getting more heat than the people who came before her and made no move to try and fix things for the better. Which Caitlyn actually DID in the end, mind you. Also, yes her anger was personal, but it wasn’t aimed toward everyone in Zaun. It was aimed toward JINX specifically. Innocents just got caught up in it as a result. So I think that’s the exact same as Viktor’s case. His goal wasn’t to wipe out a bunch of people but he did it anyway. If intention doesn’t matter over actions when it comes to Caitlyn, don’t move the goal post when it’s Viktor.

The main problem in this fandom is that majority of these people don’t know shit about the LOL lore beyond Arcane and they are all literally talking out of their ass. In fact if they did know anything about the lore than they wouldn’t actually have a reason to hate Cait so much. But hey, why would you put time and effort into learning and reading about this beautiful, rich lore when it’s a lot easier and less time consuming to just jump onto the fandom that exists for over 10 years and shit all over it’s characters to make yourself look smart and morally superior to others.
