I pay my HVAC company a small fee ($99) for a maintenance plan. They come out twice a year. I know for a fact they clean my coils and do other maintenance. They document and provide before and after photos of everything they do.

My ac unit is 4 yrs old and stopped cooling had the ac technician come and look at the unit outside and he said it was the condenser fan motor he replaced it but my house is still not cooling

Interesting please don’t tell me it’s Semperfy because I just had Semperfy come out and they sent two techs out here and both of them tried to sell me something. I called the company and talked to a gentleman and told him I actually have them on my Indoor video cameras and he offered to send another person out to do a recheck of what the last person said was wrong with my air conditioner and they never showed up. But I have to be honest with you. I don’t even want them to fuck back out here. They can have that service plan that I paid for. I don’t give a shit. I don’t want him touching my AC. What’s funny is my AC is still under warranty with Trane. The first gal tried to sell me a whole new AC unit for an astronomical price even though mine‘s fine there’s nothing wrong with it and she said Tranes our bad about leaving mold in the ducks, but luckily, she didn’t find no mold. Then the second guy that came out I don’t know why they had to send a second guy to do the service but when he did the service, he showed me pictures of things that were wrong with my AC unit and that they needed to be fixed for $1300 and also try to sell me sealing. I guess they seal your ducts nowadays with hot metal liquid. Which I live in a 1962 house I was kind of interested in that because my ducks are the original ducts. So he told me he would do the $1300 worth of work on the AC unit if I filled out his application through green tree or something like that and then it would cost me 3000 well by the time I got done filling out the application coincidentally it was 4300. Not the 3000 that he told me it would be? Yeah that was Semperfy by the way. It felt real scammy to me so I told him to leave.

Those maintenance plans are all scams! i’m a real estate agent and I hear it all the time. And I used to own an air-conditioning company, and I heard it from those customers as well.

@Melis1970: Last year my company charged me $750 to acid-clean my coils on a 3 year old unit bought for my home. At the time I was like what?! Are you kidding??? But of course, I paid it. This time a new tech came out and showed me the sticker on it that says “CLEAN COILS WITH WATER ONLY.” As a single mom and solo homeowner, I have never felt so taken advantage of in my life. Disgusted to say the least.

Parker and sons quoted us $20k for ac replacement. It just needed a new fan. My hubby went out bought it for $200 and installed it back himself. ac working fine that was 1 year ago.

Dude, my ac is in new construction home,can’t be broken, he told me that it was a tight cable when they installed and it was being burnt from heat when it wasn’t, costing me 495 to 600 for 1 wire.. yet it wasn’t that. It was the cable being burnt at the breaker they had to replace
