I cannot tell you how refreshing and heartwarming that is. Nolan’s films now feel soooo soulless and just about spending hella to create a spectacle with all the top actors. The fact a film that was just a passion project between a mother and son made more. Ugh. It’s poetic.

oooop now people are going to start hating on obsession because its becoming "popular" lmao why are people like this. It was cool when it was "underground" or "not well know" but the minute it actually became popular and people started liking it everyone's all, "I dont understand the hype" "I actually didn't like it" "Im not like everyone else". I hope you people know its ok to like what other people like. It's not cool to be different. It was a good movie made by some awesome content creators that worked their asses off. Just appreciate it and move on my god.

One thing that they tend to leave out, so they can manipulate the profit numbers is to ignore promotional costs. While Blair Witch was produced for super cheap it had a 25 Million Promotional spend. So if we take Total costs (Promotion and Production).The original Texas chainsaw massacre had the highest cost to profit ratio ($300,000 estimated on total cost). A case for the original Mad Max is also made due to this reason, however it is said regional theaters did promote it and didn't rely on a grass roots movement as much as Texas Chainsaw Massacre did. Obsession, The Blair Witch project and Paranormal Activity had 15+ Million dollars spent on promotion. Niu Lai has taken over that spot for highest profit ratio, as the creators haven't launched any type of promotion for the film and all of its promotion has been done for free via social media users. Even theaters are just drawing their own posters for the film.
