That particular car has recalls on it for this exact problem. You may have a grievance with Drivetime but this isn’t on them. The same thing would have likely happened has you bought it from the actual Hyundai Dealership. There aren’t too many places that can predict a car catching fire.

Not drivetime. It’s Kia’s fault. Mine burned while driving last September. Thankfully I didn’t have my 4 kids with me, but I now have ptsd from it and any smell or sound I hear when I’m driving I immediately have to pull over because I’m scared it’s gonna happen again and I won’t get all my babies out in time

1. Not the dealers fault. 2. There could have been an issue with the electric or motor that you were unaware of. I have not had a problem with Drive Time. Nor anyone else I know that bought cars from them.

Respectfully though…how is drive time supposed to know/assume a car is gonna catch fire? You said there was no warnings or dashboard lights on the car.. so if there was no indication something was wrong how are they supposed to just know that?

My friend and I bought two cars from drivetime…. I bought a Kia and he bought a Honda three years ago…. He still has his Honda… the engine failed in my Kia… it’s not drivetime it’s Hyundai and Kia their cars are cute but crappy…. I’m praying for your husband’s mental health, and I thank the lord he’s ok!!!

Oh my got my vehicle firm drive time just had to get new engine. Only had 8 months . Engine light still on . They said I had to trade else where . That I couldn’t get anything else from them no matter the issue
