That’s a great observation, I said something similar. Gen Z isn’t accomplishing anything or getting involved with anything. But they still want to justify their large, unearned egos. So they become the moral police to fill the gap.

I genuinely also think that millennials and up were taught not to judge ppl, but Gen Z grew up with “call out culture” being a virtue. We need to take some responsibility for shaping that 2010s era “SJW” environment

Many of my GenZ literature students argue that wanting or being in hetero sexual relationships is de facto "man centered." I had a large group of young women spend an hour of classtime arguing that romantic and erotic love was patriarchal and anti-feminist. It was interesting to see how little pushback they got from the rest of the class.

this is kinda tinfoil hat of me but i'm 90% sure most of it among people my age or younger is people with unchecked moral OCD and black-and-white beliefs who think not getting help makes them better than everyone else, and forcing their thoughts/compulsions onto others is them doing a public service. it doesn't help that the modern day internet rewards that behavior ie callout culture. it's just insane because none of them genuinely think they're being conservative, they all believe they're in the right and anybody who even slightly challenges them, even just to give them reality checks, is immediately grouped in with actual on god predators
