@elevatemd: Have you ever experienced this type of a reaction to your progesterone therapy? 🤔 #perimenopause #hormonalimbalance #menopause #womenover40 #perimenopausehealth
I had this exact reaction! Vaginal progesterone was a game changer for me!

I have the mthfr gene and probably slow compt. Is this why progesterone gave me terrible pounding heart and restless ?

I get severe anxiety from all forms of progesterone I’ve tried. Oral capsules, troches, progestin, and suppositories. So frustrating.

Yup! This was me, and honestly, it was scary. The intrusive thoughts and complete lack of that “calming” effect were so confusing until I finally realized what was going on. The problem is, I’ve tried pretty much every other route and dose, and even with a microdose vaginal suppository, I still get the same effects.
I’m extremely sensitive to hormone fluctuations, and this whole process has been terrible. The only relief I’ve found is a 300 mcg estrogen patch, so at this point, I guess I wait for someone to remove my uterus. 😅

Also , I have ADHD and my psychiatrist told me it might due to a neurological issue (the GABA you're describing) , has anyone else been told about this?

For someone who is sensitive to side effects of any kind of medicine, would you suggest skipping oral progesterone altogether?

both 100 mg oral and 200 mg suppositories made me dizzy the next day and after a few months I had to stop suppositories because they were so messy. is there any other form?

How long should I try it before knowing? I’m about to start night 5 of 100mg progesterone and vaginal estradiol and I feel out of it and on the verge of a panic attack and flat at the same time but I’m having so many issues sleeping and adrenaline I need relaxation desperately

Any progesterone over 50-75mg creates HORRIBLY painful breast cysts. I’ve tried various doses of oral micronized (including SR) and the worst symptoms are lucid dreams which make me feel like a zombie in the morning, and intolerable breast cysts. Recently switched to vag suppositories as they’re supposed to bypass the liver, and still experienced the same horrible breast cysts and massive bloating. I refuse to do an IUD and don’t’ want to use synthetics. I’m really stuck because I need my .05mg estradiol patch.

Good to know. I felt intoxicated for the first 2 months and went to sleep but tossed and turned all night. Then I was so sleepy during the day.

It’s hard to define symptoms because so many overlap with each other so how do we know if it’s low estrogen, progesterone, testosterone or all of the above

I didn't know about the suppositories, thanks for the suggestion! My Dr currently has changed me to Slynd a micro progesterone BC pill. What are your thoughts on that?

For someone who had advanced bowel endometriosis resulting in colon resection & complete hysterectomy should they be on Estradiol and progesterone? or does the patch work fine alone?
