I can’t think of a time Steve made the sacrifice play since he became Captain America aside from when he was in the crash. It was always Tony. I gotta rewatch the movies.

He always played the sacrifice play in iron man 1 telling pepper to press the button when he still was not the roof, in iron man 3 when he sent the armor on pepper instead of himself, in New York with the nuke, in age of ultron to destroy the city, in infinity war when he didn’t think twice to go to space and fight Thanos 1v1 almost not surviving, then endgame when he eventually didn’t make it. Cap couldn’t have been more wrong about him when he said that.
