As a parent, disagree. Never put their dirty poop butt flat on the new diaper with solely wiping away the poop using the old diaper, you need wipes first. If you do this method on a non-nicu baby that has full sized poop, you’re gonna get poop on the new diaper. That’s a sure way to cause a rash.

Never put the new diaper under the old one. You will never get the poop off with one wipe of the old diaper, therefore you’re transferring poop to the new diaper. Easier way is when you do the 1 swipe with the old diaper, tuck it under babes bum and continue to clean. Then you can place new diaper there. Even the smallest amt of poop left can cause a nasty rash.

Me being a non nicu person and doing it exactly like this!! Aside from cream every time. Always figured the old diaper was a “free” wipe and it definitely gets the majority off.

I can’t believe that women need to be taught this. Well, let me correct that I learned this in mamas and early parenting classes as a young mother it seemed to be common sense that’s it what is common for one person is not common for another so I do appreciate your tutorial for that reason.
