Go to the nearest truck stop/ witchy store grab some polished rocks throw them in there and say “ hey kiddo let’s go check on those rocks” open it up and 💥 polished rocks!! PS grab enough rocks to do this two or three times 😂🤣😂

In the middle of the night swap out the rocks for polished ones from the dollar store.

get a Styrofoam cooler that's big enough to cover it an set it on top of the tumbler also the fuller it is the quieter it runs

Get him the vtech dj table and you won’t be able to hear the rock tumbler over the sound of your kid making songs where he can record himself talking and hit a button at rapid speed to play it back to an electric beat that gives you anxiety after 5 minutes of it. Trust lol

How old is he? If nothing else maybe switch out the rocks today with some similar already polished rocks from say hobby lobby etc and put the rock tumbler away for later after he sees his newly polished rocks.

I popped the drain out of a cooler to run the cord through & keep the tumbler in there. reduces the noise by A LOT
