@katblaque: Replying to @tiiiworld I love how we can debate these topics for weeks on end and then people will act like it’s an insane concept when a trans person points it out lol

And even when we talk about features, especially facial features, I have had so many non-Black people tell me that I can’t possibly be full Black because they find a feature on my face, in their mind, exist outside of the realm of what they were taught/told what was beauty/attractive and they don’t want to acknowledge certain Black features as feminine and as beautiful so they will turn around and say it’s something else. “No, you must be mixed.” And I’ve seen other Black women experience this will say these Black women that they must have non-Black ancestry and that’s why they’re beautiful. Meanwhile, those women are also fully Black. Sometimes I feel like people are missing the conversation that is being had. No one is saying, Black women are not beautiful and are not feminine, we are talking about people who will refuse to acknowledge the beauty and femininity of Black women when in comparison to non-Black women when granting us grace, respect, dignity and humanity. Like I need people to lock in and really think about WHY people feel comfortable calling Serena Williams, Megan Thee Stallion, Michelle Obama, and Ciara men. All of these women exude femininity. All of these women are beautiful. And all of these women are cis. Connect the dots. It is that deep.

I was called the T slur at 17. Biological female, 5"10 tall at the time, double Ds at the time, curvy. And I was in a fitted dress and was called a slur I didn't even know what it meant. People WILL use transphobia to do anti blackness & misogynoir to black women & girls.

All I know is it takes one to know one when it comes to this. I’ll probably be deconstructing my transphobia for the rest of my life so it’s extremely easy to clock other transphobic bw who think they’re being discrete with their bigotry lmao. They’ll write essays justifying their transphobia in the comment section genuinely thinking they’re being subtle😭

people literally did this to Tierra from Love Island like... two months ago. And she's the pretty girly girl the women who think this will never happen to them imagine themselves to be

Exactly. It seems like cis women for this topic specifically (and generally those who have never deeply interacted with anyone that is not like them and not socially accepted) are just now coming into queer spaces and are seeing that there is a larger breadth of conversations to be had, something that they may not have had due to where and how they grew up, being sheltered in a way that yes they are hurt by the very society that also excludes queer people and queer conversations, but are still unaware of others’ struggles and the underlying ideas that have been studied but not so accessible in different areas/schools. Simply put, they are missing the intersectionality aspect. Now that social media is so integral to society, we have a mixing of spaces where there are ignorant and uneducated people who are now hearing these conversations and are speaking without the capacity to even be open minded and careful. All they ever do is react because they think they will lose their chance at justice if they acknowledge another’s struggle and deserving of respect. The same justice that is from a society and system that hates them too.

I actually wanted to ask if you've seen it at all, but I've been seeing some women (white cis women who are def TERFs) claiming womanism instead of feminism excludes trans women. I know womanism is centered for Black women, men, and children, and it worried me white women are attempting to steal the term to be even more transphobic and was wondering your thoughts or if I should just block said people and ignore it

the internet feels like trying to discuss something with a bunch of dementia patients in the sense that you can come to a commonly agreed on conclusion, only to hear the same topic being debated again the next day as if its completely new😭 ex: neopronouns discourse, blackwashing fandom discourse, etc..like we HAD neopronoun discourse in 2021-2022 and blackwashing discourse with the thumin situation, but now they're hot topics again?? truly mind-boggling how the internet lacks working memory

and this all circles back to the subconscious transphobia that spewed out of “allies” when the drew afualo discourse came about, where people skewed WAY OFF topic of the valid criticisms of the podcast clip (which i didn’t agree with bc women aren’t a monolith) and started saying “don’t call me a cis woman, i’m a woman”. as someone with a sociology degree, they need to unpack why being brought up in relation to transness/the gender spectrum triggers them so bad (ie. markedness vs unmarkedness). also, to the point of the og point of your video, the biggest example is michelle obama and what maga refer to her as…

Yes! Omg when I saw her video I was like yes this is upsetting, but then I was seeing the comments I felt like I was on the wrong side. She has some white tonedeafness but why are we being transphobic? She needs to look inwards but so do y’all it’s embarrassing 🤦🏽‍♀️

It was racism, full stop. The masculinization of black women is racism. Has nothing to do with transphobia. If you associate whiteness to femininity you are racist. Why are trans people trying to force black women into this “shared struggle” when that’s not what it is. White trans women get masculinized for literally being born men. Not the same thing.

I’m just tired of being told to care about everyone else’s problems when they people never care about mines. Stop trying to drag black women in the trans alliance, especially when the entire point is just saying we look like men or masculine. I’m over it

Are you trans? Because if not why are you throwing your sisters under the bus. Have a rest, just begging it for white trans women.
