I think this case is most likely to end with not guilty by reason of insanity or a Hung jury resulting in a missed trial. But my opinion, based on the case that has been presented is that she should be found not guilty, because there are bucket loads of reasonable doubt here. My overall opinion is that we will never know what actually happened in that house. The only two witnesses are unreliable, one due to circumstances, as Lindsay was going through a mental health crisis, so severe that she was experiencing intrusive thoughts, delusions, and hallucinations, on a cocktail of heavy duty, psychiatric medications, had additional medication’s in her system from the crushed up pills in the lemonade, suffered physical trauma, so severe, including head, trauma that it resulted in permanent paralysis, required resuscitation, and ended with heavy sedation in the hospital, so anything she says cannot be reliable. And Patrick’s testimony was full of inconsistencies, inconsistencies within the actual testimony itself, inconsistencies with the evidence, and inconsistencies with witness testimony from other people who arrived later. So we have two unreliable witnesses and evidence that does not fully align with one interpretation. No matter what way you try to pursue justice in this case, there is too much reasonable doubt to convict with certainty, and that’s without bringing the insanity defense into it.
