Genuine question here. Why on earth did they pick the insanity plea…? Even with it, there are so many people who believe she is innocent. Like literally “she didn’t do it” innocent. So why didn’t they just try for that as the defense? Was this an error on her lawyers part? Was their original defense denied so they pivoted? I’m so confused. Because even if she did 100% do it…. It seems like they picked the worst possible defense but also Reddington seems to be confident in himself? I’m just so confused why they even have this defense (guilty or innocent…. I mean even if she is a monster and did this premeditated… seems like they picked the wrong defense since so many people don’t believe she even did it in the first place?)
