The same way Men respond to respect from a woman, they do the same with children. You will think they love their child less but in reality they don’t, the other child just does what inspires a good reaction. Same with fathers seeming to love step children more, you find a step child who appreciates the father more because everything he does they appreciate because it is what they are deeply longing for and their own father is not doing, so they accord the father far more respect than the biological children because they think they are entitled to the love and all the father does, as such they see nothing special it, when the father responds to the respect and appreciation for the step child they claim he loves the step child more, but it is their disrespect and lack of appreciation which comes from the attitude of entitlement that makes the father shift their attention from them. Same happens when you have two children in the house, one listens and other doesn’t, the one who listens will more likely be given more responsibility and also get pecks the other doesn’t, especially on such things as driving, why would I give a child who does not listen to me my car and be expected not to give the one who does purely because of the fear of being labelled a father who loves one child over the other? Yes you will ensure that all the children have basics but most privileges will be earned.
