This gentle guy was picked up by one of our Animal Protection Officers after a concerned member of the public suspected he had been hit by a car. Now that his adrenaline has worn off, and the pain medication has taken effect, Cyrus happy to soak up the attention from his human friends, even if he's a little drowsy. Cyrus was initially unsure of the Animal Protection Officer who snagged him off the street, but between 8:13pm and 10:03pm, he had already charmed his rescuer, who would like everyone to know that Cyrus is incredibly sweet, loves to be pet, and was more than okay with being held. Cyrus's fractured femur is complete, closed, and comminuted, meaning the bone is shattered into multiple pieces. And after our veterinarian also noted that Cyrus is, in fact, a very sweet guy, his urgency became the priority. Cyrus needs to leave the shelter as soon as possible to receive an amputation. His personality is a 10/10, and we don't think that will change with 3/4 legs. We would love for Cyrus get the care he needs and heal up so he can get back some of the affection he's shown the handful of strangers that he just met. Fostering is free!
