Hi, security professional here, WAIT- Keep reading! As someone in the security field you have to always be suspicious of everyone, and everything. So for that dork of a CEO to be "naive" is absolute bull. He knew going in that it could be misused for exactly what's happening now, but is covering his ass by claiming to have been ignorant to the ways this system could be misused. "Oh, it isn't on US as a company if the people who buy and use our products don't change the passwords or set up permissions." type crap.

my computer science professors would throw a book at him. I got tired of the stories they would tell about human failure in technology because I would hear them every semester multiple times this semester. rule number one of tech is that it is created by humans and humans are fallible so it is going to be fallible. the more power you give a technology the greater chance that it will catastrophically fail or cause damage
