I was on my own in London at 23. I was being followed for well over an hour by a man. I Didn't have money fir taxi, didn't want to go back to my hostel, didn't want to go into a shop or to the subway. I waited u till I was in a super public space, turned around and walked aggressively toward him and screamed "why are you fucking following me? Stop following me! Get away from me. Stop fucking following me." He ran, fast.

You are so fortunate to get away. I similar situation happened to me in Japan several years ago… I too thought on my feet and got away and the staff at the motel I was staying at said it was for my organs!!! It’s so scary 😟 x glad you got away 🥰

This almost happened to me in a sketchy region of France, not Paris. I was with a tour group from my school along with some other various groups but I went in a shop alone. A guy spotted me, I had a hoodie and jeans on. It doesn’t matter how you’re dressed. I could speak basic French and I overheard him ask the shopkeeper how much for me, but the shopkeeper came to me and guided me out to my group to safety. I was 17. Everyday I’m thankful for him, it could be anyone.

Something similar happened to me in Paris. I was headed back to my host family’s house after hanging with a friend a bit. Admittedly it was late. I had one guy following me and he kept taunting me in French and English. As I switched trains, he asked if I spoke French and I replied in French “yes I speak it, but not with you” and as i started moving faster to get away from him, another man blocked him from following me on to the next train and yelled at me to run. It was fucking wild.

Make a commotion, yell, stand up and make sure you’re heard. Most trains have an emergency button to call the train driver. Push it. Men like that don’t want someone who is going to cause a fuss or bring attention to themselves. Be LOUD.
