As a warehouse manager, let me try to answer some of the questions I see in these comments. 1 - Warehouse’s and/or job sites are given x amount of time to offload a delivery. If they go over this time they are subject to demurrage charges. 2 - They can also delay a driver and cause them to go over their hours and be stuck somewhere regardless of other scheduled shipments. Drivers often carry multiple loads and if that damaged pallet(s) are not the very last load; then you’ve just thrown off their entire schedule as well as the delivery schedule of the next place. 3 - This is not as simple as 15 minutes to restack and carry on. All of those items have to be inspected before the receiver can take then in this condition. That’s a risk and a time suck to get it replaced, repaired etc (depending on the goods). It is generally smarter to reject, document, and get a corrected delivery. You definitely don’t want to accept produce or many other food items that have been potentially damaged this way. 5 - even if you do reject it and the driver continues on their way, they have to work around that mess to offload what’s staged behind it. A material handlers job is to offload, inspect, inventory, store and distribute as needed; and, while this may seem minor - it is a hugely impactful event in your hectic, scheduled to the minute, day. The tantrum was a bit much; but, the anger is frustration is understandable. Hope this helps!
