In reality I had no idea it was - until I paid my deposit for the course and was told I'd be the first woman to complete the ADAS offshore certification. It never bothered me, and still doesn't. I love what I do and I enjoy the offshore lifestyle, banter and friendships. But it has always been a boys club for a reason. The industry was never made with women in mind. Relatively speaking the job is a lot easier and safer than it used to be. But the gear is still heavy and the job still requires a level of strength and fitness that women don't tend to have naturally. It takes hard work and dedication to keep up with the boys. But honestly, there's no where else I'd rather be 🤘🏽
