@patwu4: @Claude My understanding is that the percentage of FYP traffic going to TikTok Shop will keep growing every year. Douyin increased that share by a few percentage points each year as it worked toward its commerce goals. I expect TikTok to do the same especially since it still has a lot of this year’s targets left to hit. Back in 2023, Shop content probably accounted for only 1% to 2% of FYP traffic. Even now, I’d estimate it’s still below 10%. Douyin is already one of the most aggressive social platforms in China when it comes to monetizing traffic. But the limit is more visible there because the supply of products and content is so large. In the US, at least based on my conversations with people at TikTok, my understanding is that from platform or brands eye still in a supply shortage stage.
