Jibrin Bakura Musa :
Assalamu alaikum Sir. Thank you for your advice on the Dangote Refinery IPO. Before I invest, please I need clarification on a few important points:
Is the IPO Shariah-compliant (halal)? Has a qualified Shariah adviser reviewed the company and its financials?
What are the interest-bearing debts and interest income of the company, and do they pass the accepted Shariah screening ratios?
At ₦525 per share, do you consider the IPO fairly valued based on the company’s financial performance and future prospects?
What are the main risks? Can an investor lose part or all of the money invested?
How exactly will shareholders make money — dividends, capital appreciation, or both? Are dividends guaranteed?
What are the total charges apart from the ₦525 per share?
If I already have an Afrinvest account and CSCS account, can I subscribe through Afrinvest, or must I use an officially approved IPO channel?
If the IPO is oversubscribed, how will allocation work, and what happens to money for shares I don't receive?
When will the shares be credited to CSCS and listed on NGX, and can I sell them immediately after listing?
Finally, Sir, if you were investing your own money, what would you check in the final prospectus before deciding how much to invest?
JazakAllahu khairan, Sir. I want to make sure the investment is both financially sound and Shariah-compliant before subscribing.
