not only lazy writing, but worse. encouraging their rabid fans to solve the mystery, telling them DIRECTLY that it could be solved if they spot the clues, and then the next episode making fun of them for trying to solve the mystery that they told them was solvable. calling them delusional fans for caring too much. Moftiss are the kings of Hating Your Fans 101 and i really resent them for letting down their fan base of mostly LGBTQ+ impressionable teens.

They'll never tell you how he survived because they don't know how he survived. They wrote an impossible situation and then when it came time to figure out how he survived they realised no solution worked so they just brushed it off and made it into a big mystery

i'm pretty sure arthur conan doyle killed him with no intention of wanting to write another sherlock story. it was only when he saw the extreme reaction of the public that he decided he had to bring him back. so it will always be an impossible story because he can't have possibly survived because a character can't survive the murder of its creator - if what I remember from my sherlock days is right steve and mark were huge mega nerd sherlock fans so i'd say it's very likely an intentional thing. i will not defend any other writing choices LOL but i think this one in particular is more of a nod to the original books than them just being lazy

How he survives is shown in the show, I don’t see why Gatniss would pretend it’s a mystery. We see Sherlock playing with the ping pong ball he later uses under his arm pit to stop his pulse. He tells John to stay exactly where is he, keep his eyes on him. When Sherlock jumps he does so with his arms out. All this proves that the Sherlock survived using the crash mat & fake blood to trick John (no pulse was due to the ping pong ball). Molly then issued the fake death certificate. How he survived can be worked out just by watching The Final Problem, all the clues are there. There is so other option; “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth”
