@tamil_short_flim: Meet Abhirami, a courageous 17-year-old girl living with neurofibromatosis, a rare genetic disorder that causes non-cancerous tumours to grow throughout her body. The growths restrict her basic movements and make it extremely difficult for her to walk long distances, especially because of the painful lumps on her feet. Some days, these lumps rupture and discharge pus, causing unbearable pain. Each wound can take 10 to 15 days to heal, yet Abhirami refuses to let her condition define her future. Despite years of pain and hardship, she completed her school education with remarkable determination. Every day, her mother carried Abhirami’s schoolbag and accompanied her to school, holding firmly onto one dream: that her daughter should receive an education and build an independent life. “I want my daughter to study, work hard, and become independent. She has already suffered so much,” her mother says. Now, Abhirami dreams of pursuing a college education. But to make that possible, she needs support for her studies and a safe, accessible way to travel between her home and college.
