@workshoprebuild: Sometimes, even the smallest projects require a surprising number of tools, and this detailed Ducati 999R plaque was no exception. Several unique processes and specific tools were needed to bring it to life. • It all started with taking measurements to determine the overall dimensions and hole spacing, which ultimately defined the footprint of the plaque. Using @adskfusion, turning those measurements into an accurate sketch was a breeze. • Luckily, high resolution images online provided additional references that helped determine the shape, proportions, and overall dimensions of the plaque. • With the basic shape established, the next step was focusing on the lettering and numbers. Even the smallest radii and angles were taken into consideration to preserve the authentic look and feel of the original Ducati plaque. • With the design complete, it was time for a prototype. Getting it printed on an @bambulab_official printer made it easy to verify the dimensions and overall fitment. • Once the fitment was confirmed, the real part could be made. @oneltwogs and I decided that high resolution metal 3D printing would be a great solution for achieving the fine details this plaque required. • With the metal plaque in hand, it was time for the finishing work. The raised lettering was carefully sanded and polished before black enamel was applied to the recessed serial number area. • Once the enamel had fully cured, the finished plaque was carefully fitted to the steering head and secured using two U drive rivets. • From start to finish, a surprising number of tools and processes went into bringing this small part to life, and I’m glad I took on the challenge. • Thanks again for your trust, Colin! #ducati #3dprinting #metalprint #motorcycle

Damn, did not expect 3d printer steel to come out that detailed and clean. Good to know in case I need to replace a plaque on one of my 999R's.
