The adventures of Telebot continue! This week we explored the classic story Wombat Stew. Telebot helped the children retell the tale by collecting all the ingredients needed to make the ‘perfect’ wombat stew! From feathers to mud and everything in between, it was a fun, interactive way to bring the story to life. Through the exploration of Telebot and STEM Learning it aligns with the Ealry Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Outcomes: 🟣 Outcome 1 Children have a strong sense of identity - Children develop confidence as they take turns directing Telebot, making decisions, and contributing ideas to retell the Wombat Stew story. 🟣 Outcome 2 Children are connected with and contribute to their world Exploring an Australian story using technology helps children build cultural awareness, recognise shared experiences, and work collaboratively toward a common goal. 🟣 Outcome 3 Children have a strong sense of wellbeing - Telebot encourages children to feel capable, engaged and excited about learning, supporting social and emotional wellbeing through teamwork and shared success. 🟣 Outcome 4 Children are confident and involved learners -This activity is rich in STEM thinking, coding, sequencing, predicting and problem-solving as children program Telebot to collect “ingredients” just like in the story. 🟣 Outcome 5 Children are effective communicators - Retelling the narrative, giving Telebot instructions, negotiating turns and discussing story elements all strengthen language, communication and early literacy skills.
