There was about 15 minutes before the red carpet of today’s event was due to start, when Joy gathered all the girls together. “Now there are some protocols we need you girls to stick to tonight..” Joy began. She went on to explain what was expected of them at this event. It was information that had been passed down to her from officials. There was a short pause after Joy had finished speaking, as the girls took everything in. “You’re going to dress Lena like that and expect me not to touch her?” Miu looked at Joy incredulously. “At all?” Oom audibly chuckled at Miu’s comment, which earnt her an elbow from Bam. Lena pressed her lips together to contain her smile. Miu couldn’t really believe what she was hearing. Walking the carpet without Lena was doable even if she would’ve preferred that they did it together, but no physical contact in between? No one answered her. “So keep my hands to myself? The whole time?” She added wanting clarification. “Miu...” Lena warned gently, the first joke had been funny but Lena didn’t want her getting into any trouble. “No, you have to admit this is a bit ridiculous.” Miu turned to Lena after hearing her girlfriend say her name. “Natsha.” Lena’s tone was firmer now, and whilst she wholeheartedly agreed, she knew they were not in a position to challenge anything. Lena also gave her a look to emphasise the point that this was not the time nor the place. Miu paused the second time Lena said her name, and knowing not to push it when accompanied by that look, she took a deep breath. “Fine, fine.” Miu huffed raising her hands, not hiding her displeasure at the strict instructions their team were given. Nobody was thrilled with the situation, but all agreed to follow what they had been told. “Right well someone will come and get you all when it’s time. I expect it will be in no longer than 10 minutes.” Everyone nodded, then went to go over their last minutes touch ups. Lena was checking her lipstick in the mirror when she saw Miu come up from behind. She wrapped her arms around Lena’s waist and rested her chin over her shoulder, and pouted as she watched Lena’s reflection. “Yes?” “Well I figured if I’m not going to be able to even hold your hand for the next few hours, I should make the most of touching you right now.” Miu explained, squeezing Lena tighter. Lena rolled her eyes with a laugh. “I’m sure you’ll survive.” She turned around and put her arms on Miu’s shoulders. “Mhm, but will you?” Miu countered, with a raise of her eyebrow. “You are cheeky.” Lena tapped Miu’s nose with her finger. Miu grinned looking at Lena, although the more she thought about it all the smile slowly fell away. “Hey.” Lena frowned as she watched the sparkle leave her eyes. “I don’t like that we can’t be ourselves out there.” Miu spoke quietly after a moment. “I know.” Lena pulled Miu closer for a proper hug. “I don’t like it either. But it’s just for tonight, it’ll be over before you know it.” An official stepped into the room. “They are ready for the first group.” Lena reluctantly stepped back out of Miu’s arms, and finding her hands to hold gave them a soft squeeze. “I’ll see you out there.” She hummed softly. Miu just nodded her head, holding onto Lena’s hands for as long as she could when she started walking away. Miu hyped herself up as she stood with Bam and Yuyu waiting for their call.
