I think people are missing ur point. The expression of romantic love in Saudi culture has always existed though more privately. It was never borrowed from the west but instead reorganized through globalized media. That does introduce new possibilities to practice romantic relationships differently, which is an insight newer businesses can use.

The bigger question is whether you have a clear enough understanding of romance in the Arab world to conclude that this generation is taking its conception of romance from the West. Arabic poetry, literature, music, and cinema have incredibly rich romantic traditions comparable to that of which you described. The only difference is it's displayed in front of kids more conservatively in contrast of the west. Framing modern Arab romance as Western-inspired feels like a very limited analysis. This a pretty significant cultural blind spot in the take.

Ever single Saudi/Khaleeji I’ve met thinks Americans and American culture are reflected 100% in movies and shows. I don’t think they have the intelligence at least culturally to distinguish between reality and fiction. Perhaps in a few decades they will develop this skill 🤔

i’ve found your videos interesting and i was wondering if you’d ever look at arab/khaleeji society and its relationship with nationalism, how there’s a spectrum in the west with people being able to critique their state and hold it accountable which is different in the arab world. people hold their nations with pride and can’t hold their states accountable. would love your take on it
