@drcliffaud: Why do we have tiny bones in our middle ears? 👂🦴 The malleus, incus, and stapes (the three smallest bones in the body) act as a mechanical amplifier. They transfer vibrations from the eardrum into the fluid-filled inner ear while boosting the pressure enough to keep sound energy from being lost. Without these tiny bones, much of the sound reaching your eardrum would never make it to your hearing organ. #HearingScience #MiddleEar #EarAnatomy #Audiology #HowHearingWorks #ScienceExplained
