yeah, I absolutely agree with you but the passanger can do a lot to make it easier, like in the braking you can hold yourself with your leg and lean for a turn. Btw I know this bc I ride with my dad and Im the backpack and he told me this😅

as a 'bikepack' myself, I recommend the grip belt. Of course make sure the driver is alright with it, but for me, I find it's more secure than just holding on, or holding on under the bike seat.
