@wickedshell369: Last year, I made Sydney this giant rainbow cake for her birthday. 🌈🎂 Making my kids’ birthday cakes has always been my thing. Every year, no matter what, I make them something huge and beautiful—because creating treats for the people I love is one of the ways I show them just how loved they are. Watching this video hurts a little differently this year. This year, there won’t be a homemade cake. There won’t be presents waiting for her. There isn’t even a bedroom for her to wake up in. Right now, we’re living in our car. And as her mom, that is an incredibly hard reality to sit with—especially when I look back at moments like this and remember what I was able to give her before. But Sydney is still going to wake up on her birthday knowing she is loved beyond measure. Circumstances can take away the cake, the presents, and the place we call home right now—but they cannot take away how fiercely I love my kids.
