@xoxokarrah: So, how much should you budget for a luxury African safari? A realistic starting range is approximately $1,000 to $3,000 or more per person, per night. Depending on the destination and season, a one week itinerary may cost around $7,000 to $20,000 per person before international airfare. Ultra luxury properties and private villas can cost considerably more. Luxury safari pricing may include: Accommodations Meals and selected beverages Morning and afternoon game drives Professional guides and trackers Park or conservation fees Laundry Transfers between the airstrip and lodge Small aircraft flights between camps, private vehicles, premium activities, gratuities, visas, insurance, and international airfare may be additional. Pricing also changes based on the country, season, wildlife experience, and level of exclusivity. Botswana, Tanzania during peak migration season, and remote fly in camps can command higher rates. South Africa may offer more flexibility across different luxury price points. The best value is not always the least expensive lodge. It is choosing an itinerary where the location, guiding, inclusions, and experience justify the investment. Ready to start planning?
