i literally love this drama and how the characters aren’t just evil obstacles for the main leads; they all have their reasons and nothing is black or white. even the fl and ml and especially all the women in this drama are so well written it makes it so fun to watch and so hard to dislike everyone because you know they aren’t purely evil!! i love this drama 🥹🥹

What Yake did is SOOOO unforgivable, but I still feel like no one ever truly understood her. It’s the same with Madam Zuo they were both treated like they were insignificant, as if they had to constantly walk on eggshells, without ever being given the space to actually express what they were feeling. Everyone only saw the surface of Yake and judged her by her actions, and looks and how talented she is but no one really saw the battles she was fighting underneath, not even Tingyun. She thought escaping that life through marriage (and by betraying her bsf) would finally give her the peace and security she desperately needed, but marriage was never going to be the cure for everything she was carrying.
