@user609306143323: A Kentucky grandmother was supposed to drop her 10-month-old granddaughter off at daycare before going to work. Police say she instead drove straight to her medical clinic—and the baby remained strapped inside the car for roughly eight hours. Scottie Gwyn Crowell was found D*ad on Aug. 13 outside Owensboro Health Multicare in Madisonville. Her grandmother, Dr. Stacey Fazenbaker, 61, had offered to pick Scottie up that morning and take her to daycare. The mistake was not discovered until around 4 p.m., when Scottie’s father arrived at daycare to collect her and learned she had never been dropped off. The family then realized Fazenbaker had gone directly to work. Police said she rushed outside with coworkers and found Scottie still inside the vehicle. Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but it was too late. Temperatures outside reportedly reached 95 degrees that day, while the temperature inside the vehicle was reported to have climbed as high as 115 degrees. No charges have been filed as investigators continue examining exactly how the tragedy happened. Police said Fazenbaker was tested for Dr*gs and Alc*hol but indicated they did not expect positive results. Authorities said the case could eventually be presented to a grand jury. An autopsy will determine Scottie’s official cause of D*eath. Scottie had been born in September 2025 through IVF and was her parents’ second child. A family member later wrote simply, “We love you so much, our sweet baby girl.” One forgotten stop turned an ordinary morning into a family’s unimaginable loss. Should the focus stay on the missed daycare drop-off, the eight-hour timeline, or the ongoing investigation? #ScottieCrowell #Kentucky #HotCarSafety #FamilyNews #madisonville

So sorry. Be kind everybody. It’s not like she meant to leave her granddaughter to die in the car. She’ll have to live with that the rest of her life and I’m sure her heart is absolutely incredibly broken.

I don't understand. If you offered to pick her up and take her to daycare, when you picked her up why didn't you go to the daycare?

My car tells me if there is someone sitting in any seat in my car. Maybe that needs to be a standard feature on all cars.

Daycares should be required just as a precaution to contact the parent in the event of an absence. It could help with some tragedies. More safeguards could help .

My heart goes to the baby, her parents and her grandparents. Nothing needs to say anymore. It is so sad and traumatic to all her family members. Especially to her grandma.

Why is it only in the hot months? Do they ever forget them in the winter? I’ll never understand how you get out of the car and forget your kids

Wow, how difficult. Interesting how you offer to pick up and drop off at daycare then don’t go there.
