@carina.fit: There is SO much nutrition misinformation online 😭 1. Protein shakes after the gym are NOT useless. Protein gets broken down into amino acids that your body can use for muscle repair and growth. It doesn’t need to “attach” to another food to work. 2 Eating 87g of protein or more in one meal does NOT mean the rest magically turns into “expensive carbs.” Your body can digest and absorb large amounts of protein at once. There’s a difference between how much protein your body can absorb and the amount that maximally stimulates muscle protein synthesis at one time. 3. Just because you can’t pronounce an ingredient or don’t know what it is doesn’t mean Its bad. Polydextrose is commonly used as a soluble fiber/food ingredient 4. Protein powder isn’t ruining your gains because it’s “not bioavailable.” In fact, Whey protein is one the most highly digestible, high-quality protein source rich in essential amino acids. You don’t need to be scared of protein shakes, protein bars, or eating more than 30g of protein in a meal. Nutrition is already confusing enough. Just eat enough protein throughout the day and you will fine. Follow for fitness advice without the fear mongering 🤝
