Bam had booked Singapore because she needed space. Real space. Not the kind where Oom texted her every few hours asking if they could talk. Not the kind where Oom sent voice notes at midnight saying they didn't need to throw away two years because of one horrible argument about work. Not the kind where Bam kept staring at the messages and nearly replying every single time. She needed distance and a completely different country seemed sufficient. Their breakup was two weeks old. Fresh enough that Bam still had one of Oom's T-shirts in her suitcase without realising she'd packed it. Fresh enough that Oom's contact was still pinned at the top of her messages. Fresh enough that Bam was still madly in love with her. That was the problem. Oom wanted to talk. Bam wanted to stop hurting long enough to know what she actually wanted. So when Oom sent another message three nights before Bam's flight, Bam finally answered. I need time, Oom. Please. The reply came almost immediately. Okay. I’ll give you time. But for the record, I still think this breakup is stupid. I love you x Bam almost smiled but she didn't reply. Instead, she turned her phone off and went to sleep. The next morning, she flew to Singapore. It was a resort she’d wanted to holiday to for months, she’d spent countless nights showing Oom pictures and videos of the place. Bam loved how peaceful it looked, so it felt like the perfect place to come to for some time to get her head in order. By lunchtime, Bam had decided she had made an excellent decision. The resort was beautiful. Her room overlooked the water, the bathroom was bigger than her first apartment, and there were three restaurants, two pools, a private stretch of beach and a spa that smelled expensive before she'd even walked inside…perfect She spent the first afternoon exploring the resort, had lunch alone beside the pool and even managed to read nearly thirty pages of a book without checking her phone. That evening, she dressed for dinner and headed downstairs feeling almost human again. Then she walked into the hotel bar and stopped dead in her tracks at the sight in front of her. Oom sitting at the bar with a cocktail in hand. “No.” Oom looked up, their eyes meeting. For one glorious second, Oom looked just as shocked. Then her face broke into a huge grin. Bam's horror deepened. “No.” Oom started laughing and Bam marched towards her. “What are you doing here?” She hissed. Oom looked around dramatically. “Having a drink.” “In Singapore.” “Last time I checked.” “You followed me.” Oom's smile disappeared. “No, I didn't.” “You expect me to believe you independently booked the same resort?” “I booked this two months ago for us…as a surprise for you.” Bam stared, her eyes arrowing slightly. Oom pulled out her phone. “Want the confirmation email?” Bam didn't answer but Oom held it up anyway. The date was there. Two months ago…before the breakup. Bam closed her eyes. Of course. Of course this would happen to her. When she opened them, Oom was trying not to laugh again. “Don't.” “I'm sorry.” “You're not.” “I'm really not.” She giggled slightly. Bam folded her arms. “I came here to get away from you.” Oom winced. “Bit harsh.” “You know what I mean.” “I do.” For half a second, Oom's expression softened. Then the grin returned. “But this is clearly fate.” “It's clearly terrible luck.” “Same thing with better marketing.” Bam turned around. “I'm going to dinner.” “Great idea.” Oom went to grab her bag. “Alone.” Bam snapped. “Very dramatic.” Bam ignored her and made it all the way to the restaurant, was shown to a table near the window and ordered wine. Five peaceful minutes passed then the chair opposite her moved. Bam looked up as Oom sat down. “What are you doing?” “Eating.” “Sit somewhere else.” “Restaurant's busy.” Oom shrugged, placing a napkin on her lap. Bam looked around. There were at least twelve empty tables. “Oom...” “Fate.” “I swear to God.” CONTINUATION IN COMMENTS ⬇️ #oombam #oomeisaya #bamsaralee #ThaiGL #wlw
