Gorge originaly extended to the whole chest area. That's why a Robin, in french is Rouge-Gorge. petit-Déjeuner, because it come before the Déjeuner at noon. Lave-vaisselle is really self explainatory. Essuie-glace, glace does mean mirror too, like "glass" in english. Garde-robe more like "robe keeper" where you keep your robes. Rouge à lèvre is also self explainatory lmao
