@missy23232: Job interview tips from a recruiter who made hiring decisions for 20+ years. Tell me about yourself' isn't an invitation to repeat your resume, it's your two-minute chance to show why you're the right person for the job. Most people prepare for job interviews by memorizing their resume. That's not what gets you hired. I coach professionals on exactly what hiring managers are evaluating and how to walk into any interview as the obvious choice. I help professionals land the job, get the promotion, and show up like the leader they already are. #interview #interviewtips #careercoach #careertok #LearnItOnTikTok

I want to better answer the question of, “what would you do in a challenging situation?” I got asked that and was stumped.

when I coach ESL professionals on this, I encourage the outline (by way of example): I'm a global management consultant of 25 yrs experience. I focus primarily in post-merger integration and global transformation program management. I excel at rescuing troubled programs through de-escalation with emotional intelligence and relationship building. This is an exciting role with a world class team and firm, that I want to be a part of. Thank you for your time and for considering my application. seem reasonable as a starting point for most folks?

I just had 2 back to back panel interviews this week and I MADE SURE that was the one thingI had memorized thanks to your tips lol I shared a brief early career background with an accomplishment, where I am now and how I impact my teams and then why I was excited for the role bc of how it aligned with specific strengths. idk if it worked, we'll see next week🤞!

I’ve heard it explained. Needs to be 1/2 about your resume and self and half about how you align for their position. Great insight 🥰

So some people actually want you to walk through the resume bc they didn’t read it.

As a hiring leader, I can co-sign this. It is remarkably difficult for people to sell themselves but it is so important they have a two minute elevator speech ready that explains exactly why they are right for the role and it should not be a chronological spiel on what I can see on the resume. This is no time for modesty. Great advice!
